Reconstruction of the control system for blast furnace VP2

At present, blast furnace VP2 in ArcelorMittal Ostrava is controlled by the Centum CS3000 system from the firm Yokogawa, and is close to the end of its service life. The client needed to decide between reconstructing the existing Centum system or replacing it with a new system. After the submission of various offers, the client decided that the Centum system will be replaced with a new solution on the basis of the Siemens Simatic S7-1500 control system with the visualization Wonderware System Platform.

The project includes:

• preparation of the complete implementation documentation for the new system
• dismantling of the existing control system.
• delivery and assembly of the new Simatic control system and visualization Wonderware
• training of operators and maintenance employees
• ensuring the transfer of data into the company information system

AUTEL, a.s. received the response from ArcelorMittal Ostrava, that it has assessed their offer for reconstruction of the blast furnace control system as the winning offer.

The references from AUTEL concerning the control of blast furnaces assured the client that within the short deadline required for implementation, AUTEL is able to meet this challenge.

The termination of the project and full operation is proposed for May 2017.
